Back to school means that we are inching our way to busy nights with extra curricular activities and what it seems like zero time to prep those lunch boxes or even dinner!
I’m definitely not against eating pizza every night but for me it needs to be homemade in some way, like this easy pepperoni pizza dip or this sheet pan margherita pizza!
Although I chose to have pepperoni on these air fryer bagel bites, you could really top them with anything!
Sausage is a perfect topping for bagel bites or you could make them with just cheese!
I think the next time I make them I might use chicken and blue cheese inspired by this pizza!
HOW TO MAKE AIR FRYER BAGEL BITES
Ingredients:
- Seasonings. I went with the traditional (to me) garlic powder, dried basil, and oregano.
- Mozzarella cheese. I went heavy on the cheese because let’s face it, you can’t have to much cheese!
- Tomato sauce. We always use unsalted but you could definitely use salted.
- Pepperoni. While I did try to make these with regular sized pepperoni, in the end I went with mini. They fit better, easy to place them on, and they were just more appealing!
- Bagels. Again I went with the mini version. You could likely try large but I haven’t done them. You could even try these with an english muffin too!
Directions:
- Mix seasonings in a small bowl. Set aside.
- Cut each bagel in half.
- Assemble each bagel bite by topping with 1-1 ยฝ tablespoons tomato sauce.
- Next add a few pinches of seasoning to each bite.
- Top with mozzarella cheese.
- Top with 8 mini pepperoni.
- Place on tray or in basket.
- Air fry at 400 degrees F for 6-8 minutes or until the cheese has melted.
NOTES & STORAGE:
NOTES: If preheating the air fryer or if making multiple batches, the second batch will cook faster. Likely 5-7 minutes.
If using an air fryer basket you’ll only be able to cook 4 halves at one time. If using a tray you can get up to 6 halves at a time.
STORAGE: Store in refrigerator up to 4 days.
REHEAT: Reheat in microwave for about a minute, in toaster oven for about 4 minutes, and in air fryer for about 4 minutes.
