We love making cobblers with all kinds of fruit like this peach cobbler, which is the OG (original, authentic flavor). Don’t forget strawberry or blueberries as well!
Apple Cobbler in our house came first when it hit apple season, then I went nuts and added caramel to it! PERFECTION!
For this cobbler recipe I decided to add some caramel bits! It gave this dessert a nice gooey, creamy texture along with the crust and apples! Top it with ice cream for a nice added touch and you will definitely want to keep making this time and time again!
I went with caramel bits because it was so much easier using them instead of having to unwrap caramels and cut them up! This made the prep time for this dessert only about 10 minutes!
HOW TO MAKE CARAMEL APPLE COBBLER!
INGREDIENTS:
- Unsalted butter. This starts off the crust by getting melted and combines with the crust just perfectly!
- All-purpose flour. The key ingredient to the crust!
- Baking powder. Helps make the crust fluffy!
- Sugar. Helps sweeten that butter crust.
- Milk. Really any kind can be used but I tend to reach for the 2% here.
- Apples. The star ingredient!
- Lemon juice. Just a little so your apples don’t turn brown on you!
- Brown sugar. Gives a nice sweet flavor to the cobbler.
- Ground cinnamon. Necessary for all things fall!
- Caramel bits. What in the world are caramel bits some people ask? It’s a product made by Kraft that is perfect for baking! No need to unwrap a bunch of caramel candies and cut them. These bits save so much time!
DIRECTIONS:
- Melt butter and pour in baking dish.
- In small bowl add flour, baking powder, sugar, and milk. Whisk well.
- Pour into baking dish over butter. Stir.
- In small bowl add apples, lemon juice, brown sugar and cinnamon. Stir.
- Place apples over the top of batter. DO NOT STIR.
- Place caramel over the top of the apples.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes at 350 degrees F until golden brown.
- Serve warm and ENJOY!
NOTES & STORAGE:
STORE: Store in refrigerator for up to 3 days.
FREEZE: I have not tried to freeze cobbler before, so not sure how it would work!
