My favorite easy no bake dessert are cereal bars! They are so delicious and take very little time to make! Perfect for when you want to whip up something quick!
There are just certain times of the year where I crave the delicious flavors of graham crackers, chocolate and marshmallows. The combination is really so simple but so flavorful.
Well luckily we don’t have to wait for the summer to enjoy these cereal bars.
Here are some simple tips to make these bars.
For the cereal:
I like to mix the cereals up for my bars, if you are making a classic krispy treat then you would just use plain rice cereal.
For these I use rice cereal and Golden Grahams. This adds that classic flavor of graham crackers to the bars
For the marshmallows:
You really can use either the mini size marshmallows or regular. Never go for the jumbo, they are just too big for this recipe. I actually perfect the regular size but either will do.
For the chocolate:
I always use semi sweet chocolate chips but can you imagine how it would be with dark or milk chocolate? That sounds like we need to make another recipe!
Stove top or microwave?
You actually could use either way. Sadly we do not have a microwave right now so I’m forced to make them on my stove. It really isn’t that big of a deal except it takes about 5 extra minutes.
The microwave melts the marshmallows super quick. The stove top version you need to be super careful that you don’t burn the marshmallows. That is never fun!
A few other cereal treat that you may want to try are these:
- Chocolate Marshmallow Treats. Made with cocoa rice cereal and a favorite of the kids.
- Another one are these lucky charm cereal treats. I mixed two cereals together and made them extra gooey.
- These fruity marshmallow treats never disappoint!
