Summer is still in full swing and I am thinking about all of the foods I can still grill! It isn’t too hot here in the midwest so we’ve had some really lovely nights sitting out on the porch!
We’ve even done a few dinners outside as well. We don’t get to do too many because my youngest daughter can’t stand bugs. At least she says.
We still try to get outside as much as we can because we know we only have a few months before the cold descends upon us and we are stuck indoors for 5 months!
One thing that I did before moving to Minnesota last year was follow a bunch of restaurants in the Twin Cities on Instagram.
I did this so I could get a sense of what the food scene was like around here! And that is where I discovered the Juicy Lucy or as some spell it Jucy Lucy.
If you have never heard of it you are definitely missing out! It’s a hamburger with a ball of cheese cooked right inside of it.
So when you take a bite you have this miraculous oozing cheese in the center! This pairs well with a chilled glass of Sutter Home Riesling, which is a perfect way to kick off your summer festivities!
Although the original version of Juicy Lucy sounds amazing I kicked it up a notch by adding sriracha to my burger mixture! It gives it a nice spicy kick to the burger! And it is divine!
I actually made these twice to test out how much sriracha I could get away with adding to my meat. So you can definitely increase or decrease the amount you put in depending how much spice you like!
A few things to know about Sutter Home Riesling:
- It has tropical aromas with the flavors of peaches and melon.
- Along with spicy foods this also pairs well with pasta, grilled foods and cheeses
- Finish your meal off with a chilled glass and a sweet treat is a must! Try it with these apple pie cinnamon rolls!
