Ingredients

For the waffles

  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cup red velvet cake mix

For The Chocolate Drizzle

  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Grease and preheat according to manufacturer instructions.
  • Whisk together milk, oil, and eggs. Stir in flour and cake mix. 
  • Mix for 2 minutes. Batter may have a few lumps.
  • Ladle approximately ½  to 1 cup of mixture into waffle iron. (Follow the recommended amount of the manufacturer instructions.)
  • Cook according to waffle iron directions. Typically 3-5 minutes.
  • Keep warm till ready to enjoy.
  • In a microwavable safe bowl add heavy cream and chocolate chips stir till smooth. (If too thick you can add a little more warm heavy cream.)

Notes

Makes 8 square waffles and makes 4 large Belgium waffles.
TO MAKE INTO HEARTS: Use a heart shaped cookie cutter and cut each waffle.
