  • FOR THE CINNAMON ROLLS:
  • 3 ½ cup flour
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup butter 1 stick, softened
  • 1 cup milk warm
  • 1 teaspoon active dry yeast
  • 1/3 cup red gel food coloring
  • FOR THE FILLING:
  • 5 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter melted
  • 4 tablespoons cinnamon
  • FOR THE FROSTING:
  • 1 1/2 cup cream cheese softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar

Instructions

  • In mixing bowl add warm milk, butter, eggs, salt, sugar, yeast and food coloring. Stir till combined. You may still see a few chunks of butter.
  • Add flour and salt. Stir till you form a soft, slightly sticky ball.
  • Cover and allow the dough to rise for 1 hour.
  • Preheat oven to 375 ° F.
  • Turn dough out onto floured counter and roll out 18x10-in. rectangle.
  • Brush dough with the melted butter, then sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon.
  • Roll up and cut it into 1 inch round pieces. Place on cookie sheet lined with parchment paper or sprayed with non-stick cooking spray.
  • Put two cinnamon rolls close to each other and pinch their bottoms to get the heart shape.
  • Bake for 15-20 min until no longer doughy.
  • In a medium bowl make frosting by beating together the cream cheese and powdered sugar.
  • Spread with the frosting over the baked cinnamon rolls.
  • Serve and ENJOY!
