- FOR THE CINNAMON ROLLS:
- 3 ½ cup flour
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup butter 1 stick, softened
- 1 cup milk warm
- 1 teaspoon active dry yeast
- 1/3 cup red gel food coloring
- FOR THE FILLING:
- 5 tablespoons sugar
- 1/2 cup butter melted
- 4 tablespoons cinnamon
- FOR THE FROSTING:
- 1 1/2 cup cream cheese softened
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
In mixing bowl add warm milk, butter, eggs, salt, sugar, yeast and food coloring. Stir till combined. You may still see a few chunks of butter.
Add flour and salt. Stir till you form a soft, slightly sticky ball.
Cover and allow the dough to rise for 1 hour.
Preheat oven to 375 ° F.
Turn dough out onto floured counter and roll out 18x10-in. rectangle.
Brush dough with the melted butter, then sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon.
Roll up and cut it into 1 inch round pieces. Place on cookie sheet lined with parchment paper or sprayed with non-stick cooking spray.
Put two cinnamon rolls close to each other and pinch their bottoms to get the heart shape.
Bake for 15-20 min until no longer doughy.
In a medium bowl make frosting by beating together the cream cheese and powdered sugar.
Spread with the frosting over the baked cinnamon rolls.
Serve and ENJOY!
