- 1 pound macaroni noodles
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/2 onion diced
- 1/2 cup diced carrots
- 2/3 cup diced celery
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 2 garlic cloves
- 1 pound ground beef or 1/2 pound ground beef and 1/2 pound ground pork
- 1 teaspoon rosemary
- 1 1/2 teaspoon oregano
- 1 teaspoon basil
- 16 ounces tomato sauce
- 3 cups shredded cheddar cheese
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
Cook macaroni according to package. Cooks about 7 minutes.
In the meantime, in large pan add olive oil, onions, carrots, celery and salt. Cook for 5 minutes.
Then add garlic and cook for an additional 2 minutes.
Add ground beef and cook for 5 minutes or until beef is cooked.
Add in spices and stir. Remove garlic cloves (if not chopped)
Slowly add in tomato sauce and stir. Allow to simmer for 5 minutes.
When pasta is done, drain and put in large skillet.
Top with pasta sauce.
Gently stir.
Top with cheese.
Bake for 12-15 minutes or until cheese is bubbly and melted.
Serve warm and ENJOY!
