It doesn’t get much better than fresh strawberries made into a silky sauce topped over just about anything! It’s so versatile. You could add more sugar or cut back on it. You could add a splash of vanilla or lemon! Anything could go!
One of the most popular recipes that is requested at our family gatherings is pound cake and strawberries (or any kind of fruit topping!) My mom has made the best pound cake for as long as I can remember.
In fact I used that recipe to make this strawberry sour cream pound cake and mini lemon blueberry pound cakes because I just love it so much!
Can I make this easy strawberry sauce recipe without lemon?
Yes you can! The sugar preserves the color and the strawberry itself so there is no need to add lemon, unless you want too. My family has been preserving strawberries like this for years and years, and we have never had any problems!
Do I cook this easy strawberry sauce recipe?
No cooking is required for this sauce. When cooking the strawberries you get more of a compote type recipe and it definitely changes the texture of the strawberries. That isn’t what I was going for with this sauce.
